NeoSoftball Rules

Please review the current set of NeoSoftball rules.   There are supplemental rules for coach-pitch and for the fall season. 

 

The out-of-area player release, age exception request, and the travel acknowledgement forms can be found at the bottom of this webpage.


2026 SOFTBALL RULE CHANGES (Approved 10/26/25)

  • NO MUSIC DURING GAMES/TOURNAMENTS (all division CP-14U): 
    • No music, including walkup music. during regular season games and tournaments
    • Playing music prior to the game is fine if it is age appropriate
  • 1H45MIN Time Limit when two rounds of games are played in the same day (like the first Saturday of tournaments)
  • 10uFP DIVISION SPLIT
    • 9U Hybrid division added (like boys 8u Farm)
    • Mix of kid-pitch and coach-pitch 
  • AGE EXCEPTION ADJUSTMENT: 15-yr-old age exception permitted if in 9th grade (was 8th)
  • TRAVEL PLAYERS
    • Can only be on one NeoSoftball roster (can’t dbl roster a girl that also plays travel)
    • Each player can pitch a maximum of 3 innings per game
  • DOUBLE-ROSTERED PLAYERS:
    • Can pitch a maximum of 3 innings per game on their secondary team that they’re double rostered on. 
    • They can pitch without restriction for their primary team

2025 USA Softball Rules

Any rules not specifically addressed in the current NeoSoftball league rules will revert back to the current USA SOFTBALL official rules.


PLAYER RELEASE

The specifics of Player Eligibility is addressed in the league rules above. 

As addressed under "Residency/School Rule", there are limitations to rostering players from another school system and/or community (local association).   

A Player Release is required for all out-of-area players.

A Travel Acknowledgement form should be turned in for any spring travel players (out-of-area travel players are NOT permitted).
